About Hope Blue Sky

Kindness with a clear purpose.

Hope Blue Sky is a youth-led community initiative taking shape in Jericho, New York. It is grounded in care for families, students, and the practical conditions that make it easier to move forward.

Our starting point

Care becomes more useful when it is connected to real life.

Hope Blue Sky begins with a simple question: what could make a meaningful, respectful difference for a neighbor or a student right now? The initiative is being developed to explore practical responses, from shared learning resources to community giving and volunteer-led support.

It is intentionally early-stage. Rather than presenting unverified results or promises, Hope Blue Sky will learn, plan carefully, and share progress when its work has begun and can be documented honestly.

Our vision

A Jericho-area community where families and students feel seen, can find pathways to practical support, and have more room to imagine what is next.

Our working values

  • Listen locally. Start with lived experience, not assumptions.
  • Be practical. Focus on support that can be understandable and genuinely useful.
  • Be accountable. Match every claim with evidence and every request for help with clear information.
  • Keep dignity at the center. Avoid defining people only by what they need.

Founder story
“I want caring intentions to become something practical, thoughtful, and real.”

Quinn Zhang is the Project Development Director of Hope Blue Sky and a senior at Jericho High School. Her interest in community action grows from service and study: tutoring students, supporting children’s learning, coaching younger athletes, and researching the ways financial and social systems shape opportunity for low-income families.

She is approaching Hope Blue Sky with both heart and curiosity. The goal is not to rush to make claims, but to build something with enough structure, accountability, and attention to be genuinely helpful.
